For most of her life, Mikayla Tulachka saw Monster Jam trucks as a part of the family. With her father Mitch competing on the circuit, Mikayla and her brother Brandan thought it would be natural for them to get a turn. Brandan joined Monster Jam in 2020 and Kayla started driving in selected events prior to her Monster Jam debut. Mikayla credits both her father and brother for guidance and inspiration. Off the track, the Wisconsin native studied nursing at Northwestern Technical College after her graduation from high school.

ABOUT MIKAYLA

What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy traveling and trying new things without the monster trucks.
Who are your role models?
My dad and brother, Brandan
Do you have any pre-show rituals you run through?
My most important pre-show ritual is getting checked, making sure I am okay and already by my brother and getting the thumbs up when it is go time.

LIFE ON THE ROAD

What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
The best part about being on the road is visiting new places, and the worst part about being on the road is getting homesick.
While on tour, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
My favorite thing to do in my free time while at the track is hanging out with the other drivers.

CAREER

How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
My dad has driven monster trucks for about 15 years, then my brother started driving. Once it was my turn, they put me in the truck and had me drive for a couple events and I have been driving ever since.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
I love being able to compete alongside my brother and on occasion my dad. They taught me everything I know to the point where I am and excited to see where I will go in the future with many lessons to come.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Follow your dreams and always remember the sky's the limit!
