The path to a Monster Jam seat travelled by way of hours of hard work for Joe Foley. Upon his graduation from high school, Foley volunteered his services at a New Hampshire event and was soon hired as a crew member for 2Xtreme Racing. With crew work and periodic driving appearances, Foley soon moved to Team Scream. The former firefighter had his sights set on driving Axe and it was mission accomplished in Lorain, Ohio. Foley is a native of Massachusetts who always attended the Monster Jam appearances in Worcester.

What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
Snowboarding, riding my Harley, working on my cars/trucks, RC cars, paintball and hanging out with friends.
Who are your role models?
My dad
Do you have any pre-show rituals you run through?
Usually, I just check the truck over really quick to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Winning my first freestyle in AXE on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
What is your most prized possession?
My 1974 Pontiac Ventura

LIFE ON THE ROAD

What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
The best part is being able to see all the different cities and interact with all kinds of different people. The worst part is not being able to see my friends and family and missing things that happen at home.
While on tour, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
I listen to music or mess around with RC cars.
How do you keep fit?
I try to watch what I eat and do some sort of physical activity every day.
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Headphones, speaker and a pair of sunglasses.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Foxboro, MA or Worcester, MA, because those are my home shows.
What countries have you visited with Monster Jam?
Canada

CAREER

How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
I started crewing for 2xtreme Racing in 2018 then moved to Team Scream in the winter of 2019.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Being able to compete with the top drivers in the industry.
How would you describe your driving style?
Controlled chaos
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
The best advice I can give is to stick with it, and don’t get frustrated and quit just because it doesn’t happen the first or second time.
