World Finals Picture as Ryan Anderson Punches His Ticket to SoFi

Authored by Scott Jordan on April 4, 2024

If you watched the livestream last weekend from Seattle, then you witnessed the qualifying of the first competitor for Monster Jam World Finals XXIII as Ryan Anderson was crowned the champion of Stadium Championship Series West.

The Son-Uva Digger driver got off to a slow start this season, finding himself in third place for the first few rounds before he and crew chief, Bryce Langlois, dialed their 12,000-pound truck in and began firing on all cylinders. Once Anderson took the series points lead, he never relinquished it and has looked as dominant as he did in 2021 and 2022 when he won back-to-back series titles.

With a trip to Inglewood on deck, Ryan will have the opportunity to defend his World Finals High Jump Championship, and he may end of leaving SoFi Stadium as the most decorated champion in the Anderson family. He is currently tied with Dennis at four wins and sits one short of Adam, who has won five times on the biggest stage of them all.

With four other series champions still to be crowned, it seems a near lock for Weston Anderson to join Ryan as an automatic qualifier. Tyler Menninga currently has a sizable lead over Tristan England for Stadium Championship Series East, but that series is far from over.

Out west on the Arena Series, we’ve witnessed several drivers take the wheel of Grave Digger, most recently Coty Saucier. The question is, if Grave Digger holds on to win the series, who will get the nod to represent the west at World Finals? Matt Cody has done an admirable job piloting the black-and-green wrecking machine, but will his international commitments prevent him from competing for a World Finals Championship? Only time will tell.

As the season winds down, the most exciting series points race to watch is on Arena Championship Series East, where Krysten Anderson currently holds a 25-point lead over Armando Castro. Will Krysten win her second career series championship, or will Armando hold the championship trophy for the first time in his career?

We will find out soon as the Road to World Finals continues this weekend!
