Weekend Recap: Title Fights Remain Open as Challengers Rise Up Against Team Grave Digger

Authored by Monster Jam on April 8, 2024
Grave Digger drivers were shut out from winning the Overall Event Championships in Syracuse, Greenville and Green Bay, keeping the championship fights alive.

Stadium Championship Series East – Syracuse, NY

Stadium Championship Series East had just one event at the JMA Wireless Done in Syracuse, NY. While Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) was able to extend his points lead over his closest title rival Tristan England (JCB DIGatron), it was Todd LeDuc (Megalodon) who won Overall despite not winning any of the individual competitions. Racing went the way of Ryan Disharoon (Shaker), who defeated England in the final. Menninga had an impressive showing in the Great Clips Skills Challenge to give him the win, and then England scored a 9.223 to win Freestyle.

Stadium Championship Series West – Nampa, ID

Ryan Anderson has already clinched the Stadium Championship Series West title, and got a week off as eight of his competitors headed to the Ford Idaho Center for a non-points event. Bari Musawwir (Zombie) took the first two Overall Event Championships of the weekend, followed by Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) taking the final two. Other drivers who clinched competition wins throughout the weekend included Kayla Blood, who got a Skills win, Donuts win, and capped the weekend off with a Freestyle win. Colt Stephens (ThunderROARus) took home a Racing win and Freestyle Win, and Cory Rummell (Megalodon) won Skills on Saturday afternoon.

Arena Championship Series Central – Columbia, SC

Six drivers were in action at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC. Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) didn’t let the fact that it was a non-points event deter him, and he swept all three Overall Event Championships. Brandon Tulachka (Just Get-Er-Done II) took a Racing win, Fernando Martinez (El Toro Loco) took a Skills Challenge and a Sky Wheelie win, and Briana Mahon (Scooby-Doo) took a Freestyle win, but otherwise everything went the way of the black-and-green wrecking machine.

Arena Championship Series East – Greenville, SC

The championship battle tightened once again between points leader Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) and second-place Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) who reduced his points deficit from 25 points to just 15 following three events at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena last weekend. Castro took home the first two Overall Event Championships, but was denied by Zack Garner (Wild Side) from sweeping the weekend. Between them, Krysten, Armando and Zack won every competition throughout the weekend, with the only exception being Mark Hall (Raminator)’s win in Donuts on Saturday evening.

Arena Championship Series West – Green Bay, WI

Matt Cody (Grave Digger) could have clinched the series championship for Team Grave Digger in Arena Championship Series West last weekend, but it wasn’t to be. The truck on this tour has seen a total of four different drivers, and Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) has seized on the opportunity to keep the points fight close. He was able to sweep all four Overall Event Championships last weekend, bringing his points deficit down to 61 points behind Team Grave Digger. Racing was Widner’s strongest competition throughout the weekend, winning three out of the four Racing Competitions. Six of the eight drivers on hand won at various points throughout the weekend, including MJ Solorio (El Toro Loco), Ashley Sanford (Megalodon), Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus) and Velociraptor (Devin Winfield).

International Series – Hamburg, Germany

Blake Granger (Megalodon) took another Overall Event Championship on the international tour with wins in the Skills and Sky Wheelie challenges, losing out only to Charlie Pauken (Grave Digger) who took the win in the Racing competition.
