Grave Digger driver Weston Anderson has clinched the Arena Championship Series West title, ending the weekend with a 308-point lead over his closest competitor. It marks his fourth-consecutive series championship.
Stadium Championship Series West – Atlanta
The Monster Jam athletes always go big when we go to Atlanta Motor Speedway, and this year was no exception with many high-flying stunts on the frontstretch of the NASCAR track. Championship rivals Tristan England (JCB DIGatron) and Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger) brought their A-games, with Tristan sweeping the two Overall Event Championships while Ryan won four out of the six competitions – including both JCB Racing events. Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) won Freestyle on Saturday while Tristan England won the Skills Challenge on Sunday. Ryan temporarily held the points lead, but a 5th and a 9th in the two competitions he lost puts him 7 points behind England.
Stadium Championship Series East – Foxborough
The points battle between Bari Musawwir (Zombie) and Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) also looks like it will go down to the wire, after Musawwir won Skills, Freestyle and the Overall Event Championship to take the points lead back from Menninga at the Gillette Stadium on Saturday. Rain was in the area, meaning the drivers had to be adaptable during JCB Racing, and it was Colt Stephens (ThunderROARus) taking the win, preventing Musawwir from sweeping the event.
Arena Championship Series Central – Hampton
While Jon Zimmer Jr. (Terminal Velocity) has built out a solid points lead in Arena Central, the series has remained competitive throughout the season. Case in point, four different drivers won the Overall at each of the four events over the weekend at the Hampton Coliseum: Jamie Sullivan (Sparkle Smash), Triton Robbins (Krazy Train), Zimmer Jr., and Matt Cody (Grave Digger). There was plenty of parity throughout the weekend, with each of the aforementioned drivers winning multiple competitions. However, Saturday evening was the points leader’s time to shine, and Zimmer Jr. swept the night.
Arena Championship Series West – North Charleston
It was a historic weekend for Weston Anderson as he clinched his fourth consecutive Area Championship Series title. While the spotlight was rightfully on the Grave Digger driver, Brianna Mahon (Scooby-Doo) had an impressive weekend too, winning three of the four Overall Event Championships – Friday night’s going the way of Weston. Coty Saucier (Dragon), Devin Winfield (Velociraptor) and Tim Hall Jr. (Jurassic Attack) also picked up competition wins throughout the weekend.
Arena Championship Series East – Des Moines
With Weston Anderson’s championship secured, it looks like Blake Granger (Monster Mutt Dalmatian) is next in line to clinch a title, especially after he swept all three Overall Event Championships in Des Moines this weekend, and swept the competitions on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening, birthday boy MJ Solorio (El Toro Loco) threw his name into the ring, winning Skills and Freestyle, then Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) joined them with a Freestyle win on Sunday.
