Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) took the spotlight in his home state of California as Monster Jam visited the SAP Center in San Jose last weekend.

Castro claimed three of the four available event championships and found himself winning the lion’s share of the competition. However, Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) scored the event win on Saturday night to prevent Castro from sweeping the weekend.

Menninga won each of the four timed racing competitions. Castro and Menninga each picked up a pair of wins in Freestyle and Skills competitions. Castro was a two-time winner in Donut action, which also saw victories for Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) and Jeff Souza (Earth Shaker).
The event also marked the Monster Jam debut for competitors Tim Hall Jr. (Scooby-Doo) and Devin Winfield (Megalodon).
