Weekend Recap: A Magical Weekend for Sparkle Smash

Monster Jam was in action in Pensacola, FL, and Los Angeles last weekend, with Loghan Ashline (Monster Mutt Dalmatian) and Kayla Blood (Sparkle Smash) smashing their way into the history books.

 

Los Angeles, CA – Crypto.com Arena

 

Eight Monster Jam drivers competed in four events over the weekend, with six of them walking away with competition wins. Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) kicked things off with the Overall Event Championship Friday night, despite not willing any of the competitions. Also surprisingly was that this would be his only Overall Event Championship of the weekend. Saturday started with Kayla Blood (Sparkle Smash) winning the JCB Racing competition and then going on to win the Overall Event Championship. Saturday Evening saw Mike Christensen (Vendetta) pick up his second of three JCB Racing wins throughout the weekend, but then Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) came back to sweep the rest of the night. Having suffered technical issues on Saturday evening, Kayla Blood bounced back in Sparkle Smash to win Donuts, Freestyle, and her second Overall Event Championship of the weekend on Sunday.

Eight Monster Jam drivers competed in three events over the weekend, with five of them walking away with competition wins. Michael Pagliarulo (Excaliber) kicked things off with the JCB Racing win on Saturday afternoon, but it was Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus) who came back to win the Great Clips Skills Challenge and Donut competition, ultimately giving him the Overall. The next two Overall Event Championships went the way of Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger), although several drivers took home for competition wins. Among them was Loghan Ashline (Monster Mutt Dalmatian), who broke through to win the Sky Wheelie and Freestyle contests on Sunday.
