It has been a back-and-forth battle recently on Stadium Championship Series East between Zombie’s Bari Musawwir and Grave Digger’s Tyler Menninga. When the dirt settled in New Orleans, the series points lead was once again held by Menninga and the Grave Digger Team.
There’s been no question that Musawwir has been among the most consistent drivers in the sport this year and throughout his career. After all, he has willingly accepted the moniker “Mr. Consistency” this season. However, a surprising second-round exit in JCB Racing at the Ceasar’s Superdome cost Zombie valuable points that ultimately gave the lead back to Menninga.
For Tyler, a few weeks ago, a record seventh series championship run seemed to be losing steam as the Iowa native continued to battle rear-steer issues in his new Grave Digger truck. Appearing frustrated at times, Menninga and crew chief Matt Gaughan continued to plug away and finally seem to have the truck set to their high standards, evidenced by the Overall Event Championship they earned in New Orleans.
With only five points separating the top two drivers and only four points-paying events left on the schedule, anything can happen. These two superstars can continue to trade the lead after each competition which makes every single JCB racing round, skills attempt, and freestyle run even more crucial.
Will Tyler Menninga continue his run of dominance and hold a series championship trophy for the seventh time in his career? Or will Bari Musawwir finish his story and win his first career series championship? Either way ,they are both most likely heading to Salt Lake City to compete at World Finals XXIV.
