Tony Ochs is one of the most popular drivers in Monster Jam and not just among the fans. He is beloved by his fellow competitors, and you won’t find a single person in all of Monster Jam who has anything but love for the veteran driver. Now being a nice guy doesn’t win you much when the light goes green, luckily Tony Ochs can flat out drive the wheels off the truck anytime the mood strikes.
Last weekend in his home state of Pennsylvania, the ThunderROARus driver took two home two overall wins in Pittsburgh. Not only did he gain valuable points on the dominant series leader Blake Granger, but he also climbed from fourth to second in the points standings, proving the U.S. Army Veteran isn’t going down without a fight.
Who can forget the absolute dogfight on Arena Championship Series Central in 2022, between Grave Digger and ThunderROARus, which saw Krysten Anderson narrowly defeat Tony to win her first series championship? Ochs has been chasing gold ever since and the automatic bid to Monster Jam World Finals that comes with it.
After an appearance in the Last Chance Qualifier a year ago, fans would love to see Tony earn a spot in the main field for the first time in his career. Catching Granger will be no easy feat, but with a few more weekends like the one he had at PPG Paints Arena we could see this one come down to the end with an epic showdown between Monster Mutt Dalmatian and ThunderROARus with the series on the line.
The series stays in Pennsylvania this weekend with five events in Allentown. That’s five more chances for Tony Ochs to earn more points, and five more chances for the state of Pennsylvania to get out there and cheer on their native son in his quest for a series championship. Get your tickets now!
