With the cameras rolling one more time, the Carrier Dome in Syracuse served as the final 2016 stop for the FS1 Championship Series. Though some will say he had nothing to prove, Adam Anderson and Grave Digger® wasn’t about to deny the New York fans the thrills they came to see.
The 2016 FS1 champion marched through the field in the Racing competition for the sixth time in nine weeks to add even more prestige to a remarkable season. The sweep ran his 2016 racing record to 21-2, losing only to Monster Energy® in Tampa and Hooked in St. Louis. Anderson defeated 10 different opponents without a loss to any of those.
The story in Freestyle centered on Damon Bradshaw’s performance in Monster Energy, as he picked up his third Freestyle championship of the season. Bradshaw’s score of 40 marked the third time he had reached the desired mark. Seven times this year, Monster Energy recorded a score of 35 or higher in the competition.
Mike Vaters II, the 2015 Monster Jam World Finals® Freestyle champion, recorded a second place finish for his best placing of the FS1 Championship Series.
While Anderson received the automatic bid to Monster Jam World Finals XVII as the series champion, he will see some familiar faces in the pit area at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. A number of top contenders from the weekly battles have earned invitations and will be seeking the chance to do what they couldn’t do on 21 other occasions this year. The event, which runs March 17-19, will feature Racing on Friday (March 18) with all-important qualifying on Thursday (March 17).
