With Monster Jam World Finals 24 just about two weeks away it’s time to start previewing some of the action that will take place on July 4th and 5th at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The second competition of the weekend will be the USC 2 Wheel Skills Challenge where we will see eight of the best, if not the eight best drivers, from 2025 in this competition attempt to wow the crowd and the expert judging panel with their skills behind the wheel of a 12,000-pound Monster Jam truck.
Jon Zimmer Jr., Ryan Anderson, Tristan England, Blake Granger, Weston Anderson, Armando Castro, Jamie Sullivan, and Tyler Menninga will all be competing for the World Finals Championship.
Tyler Menninga and Armando Castro are the two most recent champions with Tyler taking the win in Nashville two years ago and Armando earning the championship last year in Inglewood, and both are threats to win the competition once again. The El Toro Loco driver led his series in Skills wins and one more win in 2025 would result in more hardware for his trophy case back in Whittier, California. Weston Anderson is consistently one of the most-skilled drivers on two wheels and is hungry for a World Finals Championship, making the youngest son of Dennis Anderson a legitimate favorite to win it all.
Blake Granger led all drivers in Skills wins in 2025 and was masterful all year on Arena Championship Series East. Jon Zimmer Jr. is a popular pick to win his first World Finals Championship after finishing second in 2023. Ryan Anderson is a 4-time World Finals Champion, but the only competition he has not finished on top of the podium is the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge. Could this be Son-Uva Digger’s first win? Jamie Sullivan made history last year becoming the first female driver to compete in Skills and could make history again by leaving Salt Lake City as champion. Finally, you can’t count out Tristan England and JCB DIGatron, who led his series in Skills wins, and will be a heavy favorite to win his second World Finals Championship on July 4th.
With these eight drivers set to go at it for the gold medal, the Utah Sports Commission 2 Wheel Skills Challenge is sure to be wildly competitive and very entertaining, and with the new weighted scoring system, giving the expert judging panel 75 percent of the score, anything can, and will happen at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
I’d love to know which of these drivers you think will leave Salt Lake City as the Utah Sports Commission 2 Wheel Skills Challenge World Finals Champion. Drop your picks down below!
