Hooked Puts His Name into the Chase

Tampa, Florida (January 17, 2015) – Fans packed the stands tonight for week 3 of the Monster Jam FOX Sports 1 Championship Series at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Steven Sims and Hooked won Monster Jam Freestyle putting his name in the running for Monster Jam World Finals℠ XVI in Las Vegas.

Damon Bradshaw and Monster Energy was the fastest qualifier of the night earning 1 point for his 2nd straight week. Dustin Brown and Monster Mutt^® had the fastest time in the obstacle course earning 1 point. In the racing final, Lucas Oil Crusader^® beat Max-D℠ for the 2nd week in a row, giving Lucas Oil Crusader another 2 points, and a total of 6 points for the Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Championship series.

The Monster Jam Freestyle competition was wild, with all sorts of carnage and back flips from Madusa^® and Monster Mutt. When every truck was pushed to the limits, it was Steven Sims and Hooked who won Monster Jam Freestyle, earning 2 points, and moving into the running for the Monster Jam Fox Sports 1 Championship.

“I watched my dad come here for so many years, and it was an honor to show you Tampa fans what I’m made of,” said an emotional Sims. “This is my first big win, and I am going to fight to get that invite to the Monster Jam World Finals XVI!”

On the line for the 16 Monster Jam trucks at the end of the 9-city Monster Jam FOX Sports 1 Championship Series are four automatic bids to Monster Jam World Finals XVI at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium on March 26-28, and the first ever series championship.
