Bari Means Business

Bari Musawwir has nearly done it all in his Monster Jam career. From winning Rookie of the Year and the Showdown, to being named Entertainer of the Year, the Cleveland native has most certainly put together a Hall of Fame worthy resume while also becoming one of the most popular superstars in the sport.

 

The one thing missing from his Monster Jam story is championship gold. Now we could look back at his infamous World Finals race against Jimmy Creten, where a “red light” penalty cost him a world title in his adopted hometown of Orlando and reminisce about how close he has come to immortality, or we could look at his 2025 season and wonder if this will be the year that Bari brings Zombie that long awaited series championship.

 

As of this writing, Musawwir trails Tyler Menninga by 5 points on Stadium Championship Series East, which is the tightest points race in the sport. For a brief period, Bari either held or was tied for the series points lead, but Menninga won’t go down without a fight as he is looking for a third straight stadium series win.

 

As the east series rolls into Camping World Stadium, will the hometown advantage be enough to propel the two-time Guinness World Record holder back to the top, or will central Florida remain Grave Digger country and give Menninga a little more cushion to keep Team Zombie away?

 

Regardless of what unfolds, both competitors are surely headed to Salt Lake City to compete at Monster Jam World Finals 24, but who will earn the automatic bid that comes with a series championship? As a play-by-play announcer I cannot be bias, but what a story it would be for Mr. Consistency to become Mr. Champion. This has been the strongest season of Bari’s nearly 15-year career, while Tyler Menninga is arguably the best driver in the sport.

 

This weekend in Orlando, Goliath meets Goliath in a battle for the series points lead. Who ya got? Team Zombie or Team Grave Digger?
