With the first set of Monster Jam World Finals at-large competitors announced, the internet buzz appears to be centered around two first-time drivers: Jamie Sullivan and Zack Garner. Everyone seems to love something shiny and new, and the hardcore fanbase is no different, throwing their support behind two new potential championship contenders. Are Sullivan and Garner capable of leaving Los Angeles with a World Finals trophy? Absolutely, and here’s why.

Jamie Sullivan can just flat-out drive. Although relatively new to Monster Jam, the Christmas, FL, native has been driving since she was a kid on the oval tracks. She cut her teeth on the independent circuit working for JR McNeal and honed her craft at UNOH after spending time at Monster Jam University. While Sullivan showed flashes of brilliance in her rookie season, she has made possibly the biggest second-year jump in recent memory when it comes to her performance on the track.

The Monster Mutt Dalmatian driver wasted no time getting into victory lane as she won her first career Overall Event Championship early in the season in Nashville. She kept the wins coming all season long. When given the opportunity to drive on stadium tracks last year, she consistently improved every time out on the track and who can forget her performance at the Superstar Challenge, helping Team Neon to the overall victory.

When it comes to online support from Monster Jam fans, it doesn’t get much bigger than the fandom that surrounds Zack Garner. Since debuting in 2020, the Wild Side driver has earned the respect of everyone in the sport with his uncanny ability to literally drive the wheels off the wagon.

The Fortville, Indiana, native has also become known for his technical prowess behind the wheel and his showmanship, which includes eating donuts during the Donut competition. Garner has filled in admirably for his dad at stadium events, even winning a Freestyle competition. After a very competitive season on Arena Championship Series East, which saw him placing third, he is primed to take the next step in his young career which would be winning a world title. The former Monster Jam Rookie of the Year has the pedigree, skill, and charisma to shine bright under the Hollywood lights come May 18th.

World Finals is the biggest event of the year and, make no mistake about it, there will be a lot of hype and pressure on everyone competing, especially newcomers to the main field. But if there are two superstars who could overcome the odds and make history while cementing their place in Monster Jam immortality, it could very well be Jamie Sullivan and Zack Garner.
