Monster Jam was in action in Louisville, Wilkes-Barre, Hampton and Fresno last weekend. Two events saw a clean sweep, while one event saw a new first-time winner.
Wilkes-Barre, PA – Freestyle Mania Championship Series
Four events took place last weekend at the Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA. All eight teams ended up claiming at least one competition win, and yet all of the four events saw the same Overall Event Champion: Team JCB DIGatron. This success moved the team up to second in the points, albeit a ways back from the championship-leading Team Grave Digger.
Hampton, VA – Arena East Championship Series
Jon Zimmer Jr. in Terminal Velocity entered the Hampton Coliseum with a handy points lead. He was able to build on that over the weekend, winning three of the four Overall Event Championships, including Sunday’s event in which he swept all of the competitions. Triton Robbins (Krazy Train) got two JCB Racing wins, Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) got a freestyle win, and Coty Saucier (Dragon) took home a JCB Racing win, a Skills win, and a Freestyle win all in separate events, and won the Overall Event Championship Saturday evening.
Fresno, CA – Arena West Championship Series
Points leader Blake Granger (Monster Mutt Dalmatian) came out swinging at the Save Mart Center on Friday, sweeping the night’s event. However, Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) and Alex Bardin (Earth Shaker) shut him out from the Overall at both Saturday events. For Alex Bardin, it was his first Overall Event Championship, having taken wins Saturday night in JCB Racing and the Skills Challenge. Matt Cody (Grave Digger) also made the highlight reel, winning Freestyle in three out of the four events.
Louisville, KY
Eight of Monster Jam’s finest drivers headed to Freedom Hall last weekend for two events in which Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) and Tristan England (JCB DIGatron) took one Overall Event Championship apiece, and shut out the rest of their rivals from the competition victories.
