Team Nitro vs. Team Neon. We are just one week away from finding out which team will win in the 2023 Monster Jam Superstar Challenge!
Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, and fans are already starting to pick sides. But, who do the experts think will win? We asked around:
Tony Ochs – ThunderROARus Monster Jam Driver – Prediction: Team Nitro
Team Neon has the odds heavily stacked against them with competitors like Ryan Anderson and Tyler Menninga on the same team (Team Nitro). I think we are going to see full and total domination by Team Nitro in all 3 events. However, you may see a racing win from Camden Murphy, a Best Trick win from Tristan England, and a Freestyle win from Colt Stephens (all three on Team Neon) if the bracket and lineup falls in their favor. That would be a major upset by Team Neon, and would create quite a stir in the headlines!
Scott Jordan – Monster Jam TV Host – Prediction: Team Neon
I think Team Neon will walk out of Angel Stadium victorious because they have a symmetrical blend of accomplished veterans and up and coming superstars. Team Captain Krysten Anderson knows a thing or two about winning championships and with her brother Adam on the team, they bring the iconic ragged-edge Anderson driving style to Anaheim. Team Neon also has two reigning World Finals Champions in Colt Stephens and Tristan England to balance out racing and freestyle. Linsey Read will be looking to make a splash in her Lucas Stabilizer debut and we may get another “LeDuc Leap” moment as the two-time World Finals Champion, Todd LeDuc is hungry to bounce back from his 2023 season. Team Neon also boasts home field advantage in some sense as Camden Murphy always seems to find the spotlight at the home of Spin Master. Finally, this team has two of the top rookie drivers in Monster Jam in Chris Koehler and Jamie Sullivan. When you combine all of these drivers, it brings the perfect winning recipe to the Neon side at the Superstar Challenge
Ashley Sanford – Megalodon Monster Jam Driver – Prediction: Team Nitro
Both teams are STACKED with incredibly fast and technical drivers, some of which I’ve gotten to know very well this year. That being said, as much as I’ll be cheering on individual drivers, the team my drag racing roots is calling me to is… Team Nitro!
Cynthia Gauthier – Lucas Stabilizer Monster Jam Driver – Prediction: Team Nitro
The Superstar Challenge is all about teamwork. Both of these teams have some of the best Monster Jam drivers. I would love to see Team Neon win, especially because the Lucas Stabilizer is part of that team, but I have to say my prediction is on Team Nitro. I got the chance to win the All-Star Challenge in 2019 with Team Ice, and I think Team Nitro has the most consistent drivers.
