Tupelo, MS was a handful for all of our Monster Jam Drivers and Monster Jam Trucks. Sometimes the track wins and sometimes the Monster Jam Trucks win. It was a fifty fifty proposition. The non-dirt concrete show claimed some wins this afternoon. If you looked closely you could see a new twist on the non-dirt show. There were some concrete reinforcements on the race/wheelie lanes that really launched these Monster Jam trucks this afternoon!! The launch is interesting when you are landing directly on concrete…. Something’s gonna give and it wasn’t the concrete.

Wheelies were awesome with the new concrete supports on the wheelie lane. Congratulations to Alex Blackwell and Captains Curse on the first of three wins this afternoon.

Sunday 2pm

Monster Jam Tupelo is in the books for the year! It was a rainy Sunday afternoon but Monster Jam warmed things up inside Bancorp South Arena this afternoon. The concrete and the rain made this an interesting show. For both shows yesterday we were pitting the Monsters outside the Bancorp South Arena. For this rainy Sunday matinee show we pitted the monsters inside. However, when one of the Monster Jam Trucks needed attention, it would go outside into the rain. At least one Monster Jam truck had an issue with that. The rain got to the Remote Ignition interrupter on Scott Hartsock’s Gunslinger and ended his afternoon early. Hartsock had taken Gunslinger out back for some work and Slinger sat in the rain for 30 minutes or so. That soaked the RII and ended his afternoon early. Much of the electrical system is exposed on a Monster Jam truck. Electricity and water…. A tough combination.
Tupelo was treated to 10 Monster Jam trucks this weekend for the first time ever. What an awesome display of pure horsepower and pure determination on the part of our Monster Jam Drivers.

Wheelies:

Wheelies were awesome this weekend. The K rail implementation certainly had the desired effect sending the monsters straight up into the air….. the landings are tough on concrete but all our Monster Jam drivers handled the latest track wrinkle like pro’s. Congratulations to Alex Blackwell and Captain’s Curse on the first of three more wins this weekend!!
Team Hotwheels 13
Monster Mutt Dalmatian 28
Captain’s Curse 34 Winner
NEA Police 25
Monster Mutt Rottweiler 28

Gunslinger 26
Fatal Attraction DNC Blown engine from the afternoon show yesterday.

Monster Jam Racing:
Round 1 was a bit interesting. Gunslinger had a bye run in the first round but ended up with an issue in the driveline and was unable to return for the semi Final round. That opened the door for fast loser Higher Education to return in the semi’s for another chance.
Gunslinger advanced with the bye run but was unable to report for the semi’s.
Monster Mutt Rottweiler beat Monster Mutt Dalmatian
Team HotWheels Firestorm bested Higher Education.
NEA stopped Black Stallion

In the Semi’s:
Monster Mutt Rottweiler had an awesome run and beat out Higher Education.
Nea advanced to the final taking out Team Hotwheels Firestorm.
In the Championship round NEA and Norm Miller took the win.
Monster Jam Donuts:

Monster Jam Freestyle: ended with a bang as Scott Buetow would put Hotwheels Firestorm on its lid on the very first pass. Buetow hit the jump, and Hotwheels just sort of laid over on its side for the huge hit on the concrete floor. Buetow was fine and HotWheels needed a little attention after the show. The Other Freestyles this afternoon were spectacular. Gun Slinger and Monster Mutt Rottweiler were not able to report for freestyle. Rottweiler had a starter issue and Gunslinger had a problem with its RII. Rain played a few tricks on the Monsters. Alex Blackwell and Captains Curse came out and lit it up in Freestyle to claim the win.
Team Hotwheels 22
Monster Mutt Dalmatian 34
Captain’s Curse 36 Winner
NEA Police 26
Monster Mutt Rottweiler DNC Starter issue

Thank you Tupelo for another awesome weekend of Monster Jam!! See you next year!
