History

Bad News Travels Fast truly has a paint job befitting its interesting name. It features a very cartoon-style graphic of a crazed paperboy on a bike, about to toss some “bad news” on someone’s doorstep. This clever take on its paint job has made it a favorite at pit parties in the 18 years of the truck's existence. Original owner Bruce Haney broke into motorsports as a motocross rider, discovering Monster Jam trucks in the '80s. After spending most of his free time pursuing a Monster Jam career, he and his wife, Jami, decided it was time to leave his successful job at a Ford dealership and commit to Monster Jam full time. They bought the old Excalibur Monster Jam truck and converted it into Bad News Travels Fast. Haney built a newer truck in 2003 and continued his racing. Bad News Travels Fast was sold in October 2011 to up-and-coming driver Brandon Derrow and his family, who carry the name forward.
