We are one month into the 2026 Monster Jam season and there have been some twists and turns along the way with some surprises thrown in. But, when you look at the leaderboard for Stadium Championship Series East, no one should be surprised that Camden Murphy is there fighting for the top position.
Murphy has been one of the most consistent and popular drivers in the sport and his long list of accolades would make any driver envious, but with all the awards on his mantle, the one thing that has eluded him is a championship trophy. Throughout his Monster Jam career the Itasca, IL, native has always been competitive but often has had to settle for being in the conversation instead of being the conversation.
I look for that to change in 2026 and here’s why: Camden looks more polished than ever. While always a threat on the racetrack, he has stepped up his skills game, and has been more consistent in freestyle, which was evident when he won the competition at U.S. Bank Stadium. He has had a full year to master the nuances of his new Monster Jam truck, which can be tricky for any driver. In a 4-month season, there isn’t much of a learning curve if you want to win the series. Drivers who aren’t consistent out of the gate can dig themselves a deep hole. Right now, Camden Murphy is holding the shovel.
It won’t be easy with Tristan England just three points ahead but, with the way Camden is driving and considering his immense popularity in the sport, I do honestly feel that this is the year Murphy takes home a big trophy. Whether that is a series or World Finals championship remains to be seen.
