Monster Jam 2015 Recap

Authored by Monster Jam on November 11, 2022

2015 was an epic year for Monster Jam. With the all-new More Monster Jam tour stopping in ten cities across the U.S., fans saw our athletes hit the track in a unique event format. With these incredible athletes battling for one of the 32 coveted Monster Jam World Finals XVI spots, the competition was fierce. Max-D®with driver, Morgan Kane, edged out the rest of the More Monster Jam drivers and nabbed the top spot.

The FS1 Championship Series brought incredible action to nine stadiums and 10 episodes on FS1 for the fans at home. Like the More Monster Jam tour, 16 competitors went head-to-head for another one of the 32 Monster Jam World Finals XVI spots. Max-D & Neil Elliot, Monster Energy & Damon Bradshaw, and Monster Mutt® & Dustin Brown consistently battled it out for the top stop, vying for their fast pass to the Monster Jam World Finals. Max-D and driver, Neil Elliot took home the hardware and their spot among the 32.

With the competitors from the FS1 Championship Series and More Monster Jam taking two of the spots, Monster Jam World Finals XVI was a historic weekend. 32 competitors hit the dirt, giving everything up to the track, and to the fans. With some mind-blowing freestyle runs, and Young Gun Shootout Champion Monster Energy & Coty Saucier surprising everyone with an impressive performance during racing, the end up the massive 3-day event resulted in two new Monster Jam World Finals Champions.

As fans have come to expect, the unbelievable moments didn’t end at Monster Jam World Finals. Max-D driver, Tom Meents, was determined to make his mark in the record books. In a Guinness World Record attempt, Tom designed a special apparatus and practiced for the first-ever front flip in a Monster Jam truck. He planned to hit the track at MetLife Stadium with his Max-D stunt truck and WOW fans everywhere. But of course, Meents didn’t stop there. He planned to attempt a double-backflip again the following week in Foxboro, MA. After a jaw-dropping performance in East Rutherford with his front flip attempt, he successfully landed his double-backflip in Gillette Stadium.

After all of the remarkable moments in 2015, we’re looking forward to topping them all in 2016. Stay tuned this week for more big news on MonsterJam.com, Facebook,Twitter, Instagram and YouTube!
