The toughest battles aren\u2019t just against rivals \u2014 they\u2019re against your own limits, focus, and resolve.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One driver\u2019s legacy spans decades of success, backed by a global fanbase in the tens of thousands. He\u2019s earned the respect of competitors not just for his performance on the track, but for his generosity in sharing knowledge that helps others reach their highest potential.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He is Tom Meents, \u201cThe Professor\u201d, and his next achievement awaits. Congratulations are in order as he will be inducted into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monsterjam.com\/en-us\/hall-of-fame\/\"><strong>Monster Jam Hall of Fame<\/strong><\/a> this year at Monster Jam World Finals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom Meents came into Monster Jam after a successful career in mud racing. Climbing behind the wheel of Monster Patrol in the 1990s, Meents saw the impact of combining hard competitive driving with a touch of showmanship. He realized early on the importance of giving the fans the type of action that would keep them on the edge of their seats and coming back for more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>His star ascended to greater heights when he claimed the first Monster Jam World Finals racing title at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. He would do it again in 2001, going next level and becoming \u00a0the first driver to win both Racing and Freestyle in the same night in Monster Jam\u2019s crown jewel. To prove it was no fluke in 2001, he did the incredible again in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These were the first of what would become 14 world championships, a mark that tempts observers to believe it is a record that will never be broken. In addition to all the world championships, he added two Stadium Championship series wins to his title collection and earned numerous Monster Jam awards\u2014coincidentally 14 of those, too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Years of regular-season racing and freestyle victories across the nation and around the world forged him into one of the best in the business. But as Meents built that legacy, he never forgot the fans in the stands \u2014 or why they came. His signature helmet slam became the exclamation point on every freestyle run, followed by a trip into the crowd to hand one lucky fan that helmet, a priceless souvenir and an unforgettable moment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom never just showed up \u2014 he showed off. Constantly chasing the edge of what was possible, he unleashed added-attraction stunts at venues like MetLife Stadium and Gillette Stadium, launching into daring front flip and double backflip attempts. Watching a Monster Jam truck defy gravity in real time left fans buzzing about what they\u2019d witnessed for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As the successes continued to build, Tom Meents took on a new challenge that would pay dividends to the future success of Monster Jam. Monster Jam University was created with Meents conducting the lessons that would springboard young talent to new heights on the track. \u00a0\u201cThe Professor\u201d shared experiences and understanding in a way that would fast-track future drivers, some of whom took the lessons all the way to World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom\u2019s last year of competition was 2024 and the year was capped by a Lifetime Achievement Award, which caught him off guard at the 2024 Monster Jam World Finals. While he is no longer piloting the futuristic and iconic Maximum Destruction, he is still actively involved and recognized by fans even though he\u2019s far removed from driving chores. For Lupe Soza, the time spent with his father and friends working on lifted trucks was more than just a pastime. He always had that competitive desire to showcase the raw power and performance of those lifted trucks. However, Lupe turned down a different path, choosing a college education instead, putting his driving career on hold.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Lupe got his education and took a job teaching physical education and coaching in his native Texas. He kept an eye on the growing phenomenon of Monster Jam, believing he could have something to offer that world. Officials at Monster Jam saw the potential and when the 2001 Monster Jam season began, Lupe Soza debuted a new Monster Jam truck in Lafayette, Louisiana. It was the birth of El Toro Loco, celebrating its 25<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Within a couple of years, Lupe would find himself competing in Monster Jam World Finals. After being eliminated in round one of racing, he patiently waited for freestyle. In his first World Finals freestyle, he would finish second\u2026by one point to future Hall of Famer and multi-time champion Tom Meents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The following year, Lupe Soza and El Toro Loco would join Meents and Madusa at the top as the three competitors were crowned Freestyle Champions in 2004. In fewer than five years, Lupe Soza was a World Finals Champion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>As Lupe Soza built a strong fan following for \u201cThe Crazy Bull\u201d his popularity skyrocketed. When Advance Auto Parts joined Monster Jam with Team Grinder, Lupe Soza was chosen to drive their truck, handing the reins of El Toro Loco to new talent. He would capture the Monster Jam WOW factor award in his first year in Advance Auto Parts Grinder. It was his second award after capturing Save of the Year in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He would later drive the El Diablo truck in 2016 before stepping away from Monster Jam competition. During his 15-plus years he won numerous racing and freestyle competitions, leading to an impressive resume eclipsed only by his popularity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Lupe Soza, who
