Zack Garner Leads BKT Freestyle After Night 1

Authored by Monster Jam on July 5, 2025

Zack Garner (Wild Side) leads the Monster Jam World Finals BKT Freestyle World Championship as Friday action comes to a close. Garner scored a 8.713 during his run, which saw him push on through most of his run with three inflated BKT tires, until his run ended when the wheel fell off with 15 seconds to go.

Matt Cody kicked things off in Grave Digger Stars & Stripes with a high intensity run to start the competition, almost filling up the clock until he crashed in the closing seconds. His run was enough for a 7.146 right off the bat.

Mike Pagliarulo went out second in Excaliber’s first performance at World Finals, and kicked his run off with a big save. Again he had a high-intensity run including two backflips and didn’t crash out until the final 10 seconds of his run. This was enough for a 8.148 in his first World Finals appearance.

It wasn’t until the 10th truck to go – Weston Anderson in Grave Digger Primer – that someone was finally able to dethrone Pagliarulo, as Weston ended his run with a massive jump that resulted in a crash.

Anderson’s lead was short-lived, as Garner was the very next truck up.

The 12 competitors who were in JCB Racing on Friday will now compete in BKT Freestyle on Saturday, with Garner’s 8.713 the score to beat.
