Monster Jam Celebrates Women’s History Month

Authored by Scott Jordan on March 6, 2025

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. Throughout Monster Jam’s storied history, many women have made a name for themselves as drivers, technicians, and hosts, and I am not sure there is a sport in the world that offers as clear a path to greatness with equality to both men and women.

The current Monster Jam roster has 11 female drivers on it. Eight are actively competing right now on an arena or stadium series, and all have made a major impact on fans across the globe. As a father of three girls, I tell my kids there is no limit to what they can do in this world. If they want to sing, sing loud. If they want to teach, teach proud. If they want to drive a Monster Jam truck, drive fast! When my kids come to Monster Jam and see Kayla Blood or Cynthia Gauthier or Krysten Anderson driving a 12,000-pound machine it excites them. It empowers them. It gives them hope and creates dreams. I am sure many parents who bring their kids to Monster Jam feels the same.

Our female drivers are on the same playing field as our male athletes. On the same level. Competing for the same championships. Oh, and they’ve won. Four times in Monster Jam history a female driver has been crowned a world champion. Krysten Anderson made history back in 2022 when she became the first female to win a series championship. Nearly every weekend a female driver wins a competition and an event championship. Tell me another historically male-dominated sport where women are standing on top of the podium. I’ll wait.

That is just one of the many things that makes Monster Jam so special. So popular. It doesn’t just stop with drivers either. Each year more women are joining the team in various roles. There are incredible female technicians working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the trucks ready for competitions. And when you go to the live events and you look up at the big screen, you see the multi-talented female hosts bringing you breaking news or keeping you engaged during breaks in the action.

Women’s History Month is only celebrated for 31 days each year, but in Monster Jam we celebrate our female superstars every day, all year long. So, Krysten Anderson, Loghan Ashline, Kayla Blood, Myranda Cozad, Cynthia Gauthier, Brianna Mahon, Angelina Nock, Ashley Sanford, Jamie Sullivan, Mikayla Tuluchka, and Chelsea VanCleave, thank you all you do for our fans and the sport. We appreciate you and we salute you. You can see all of these amazing female superstars hit the throttle at a Monster Jam event near you by heading to www.monsterjam.com.
