Monster Jam® featuring the AMSOIL Series West Tour made its first stop this past weekend in Council Bluffs, with many new and returning athletes competing for points. Some of the newest athletes include Louisiana National Guard member & El Toro Loco driver, Kayla Blood, and the youngest touring Monster Jam athlete & Blue Thunder driver, Tyler Menninga.
Blood hit the track to take home a few first round wins in her first appearance at Monster Jam, but was unable to earn any points for the weekend. Menninga was able to advance to the finals in many events, garnering a total of two points at thetwo day event at the Mid-America Center.
Coty Saucier, the 2015 Young Guns Shootout Champion, and team Monster Energy had a strong weekend, racking up a total of five points for the weekend. Despite Saucier fighting for the top spot, the fierce competition was between Colton Eichelberger in Max-D and Morgan Kane in Grave Digger. Having swapped rides this season, Kane and Eichelberger found themselves going head-to-head 12 times on Saturday and Sunday, battling for the highest score in Freestyle, Wheelies, and Donuts. Team Max-D and Colton Eichelberger currently hold the top spot in the point standings with 13 points. Team Grave Digger and Morgan Kane aren’t far behind with 9.5 points.
