Recap: Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg was “The Brandon Vinson Show.” After some bad luck and bad decisions led to atypically low finishes for Grave Digger through both events on Saturday, the Black and Green Wrecking Machine came back with a vengeance in the final event of the weekend. Brandon Vinson won five of the six competitions in dominating fashion, all while finishing in a very close second to EarthShaker in the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge. Since Brandon nearly pitched a perfect game, he totaled an unbelievable 47 out of 48 points and the Overall Event Championship.

Recap: Saturday evening in Winnipeg was about two things; firsts and consistency. Monster Mutt’s Tanner Root took his first Timed Racing win of the season to open up the event and later on it was Tony Ochs of Soldier Fortune Black Ops doing the same in the Speedster Obstacle Course. But ultimately it was the latter’s consistency and tenacity throughout the event that was the story. In addition to his one win, Tony Ochs had second place finishes in ATV Racing and 2 Wheel Skills, while finishing no worse than third in any other competition. All that was enough to give Soldier Fortune Black Ops 39 total points and his second Overall Event Championship of the season.

Recap: Monster Jam roared into the Bell MTS Place on Saturday afternoon. Grave Digger got us started with a Timed Racing win in impressive fashion as Brandon Vinson was the only athlete to complete the course in under 10 seconds. Up next, Tony Ochs took his eighth ATV Racing win of 2020 already. It’s early, but the driver of Soldier Fortune Black Ops has put himself in a great position to compete at Monster Jam World Finals for the second straight year in that competition. Speaking of trends, next Tristan England of EarthShaker won the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge yet again. After finishing in Second Place at World Finals XX, Tristan clearly has his sights set on returning to challenge for the Championship again this year. After intermission, Scooby-Doo’s Myranda Cozad won her first Donut competition of the season. Up next, Zombie’s Bari Musawwir won the Speedster Obstacle Course, putting himself in the lead for the Overall Event Championship. Heading into Freestyle, things were incredibly close in the top four positions; Zombie with 29, EarthShaker and Solider Fortune Black each with 27 and Grave Digger with 24. Ultimately, it was Tristan England who won Freestyle with a perfectly executed backflip to break the virtual tie between himself and Zombie — giving EarthShaker another Overall Event Championship. Dating back to last week, Tristan has won three of the last four events and sits atop the series points leaderboard.
