EVENT NOTES
After seeing three different Overall Event Champions through the first three events, Armando Castro of El Toro Loco was able to grab ultimate bragging rights on Sunday afternoon. Armando became the only athlete to capture two Overall Event Victories this weekend. He did so on the strength of a 2-Wheel Skills Challenge win and a Speedster Obstacle Course win. El Toro Loco also finished in second place in Racing and Donuts, proving that consistency is key to taking the Overall Event Championship. It’s also worth noting that reigning ATV Racing World Champion Blake Granger of Max-D showed exactly why he holds that title, as he swept the ATV Racing competition for the weekend, while never trailing in a single heat race or final. Overall it was an exciting return to Toronto for Monster Jam and four great events for the first time in the Scotiabank Arena.

EVENT NOTES
The first half of Saturday night’s event was eerily similar to the afternoon. El Toro Loco won both Racing and 2 Wheel Skills Challenge with Max-D taking the ATV Racing competition in between. It was ATV World Champion Blake Granger’s third win in three tries in that competition. In the second half of the event, Grave Digger’s Krysten Anderson opened things up with a Donut win, followed by Zombie’s Speedster Obstacle Course victory. It was a tight race heading into Freestyle and even though Max-D took the top spot, Joe Urie and Zombie finished high enough to seal his second career Overall Event Championship.

After coming up just short on Friday night, Armando Castro and El Toro Loco came all the way back to take the Overall Event Championship on Saturday afternoon. He nearly swept the Monster Jam Truck competitions, winning the first three — Racing, 2 Wheel Skills Challenge and Donuts — while finishing in second place in Freestyle. Elsewhere, Max-D’s Blake Granger took the ATV Racing win for the second straight event, proving again why he is the reigning World Champion in that competition. So far this weekend, Max-D and El Toro Loco have traded Overall Event victories, we’ll see if that trend continues in the night cap.

EVENT NOTES
The first Monster Jam event in the history of the Scotiabank Arena did not disappoint! Things opened up with Canada’s own Cynthia Gauthier of Monster Mutt Dalmatian taking the Monster Jam Racing win. Up next, Max-D’s Blake Granger showed why he is the reigning ATV Racing World Champion, by dominating that competition and earning the win. He followed that up with his 10th 2 Wheel Skills Challenge win of 2019. After intermission, history was made as Joe Urie of Zombie captured his first career Donut win. Grave Digger’s Krysten Anderson came storming back in the Speedster Obstacle Course, defeating Max-D in the finals to earn the victory. Finally, El Toro Loco’s Armando Castro won Freestyle to close the event, however, it was too little too late, as Blake Granger and Max-D took the first ever Overall Event Championship in the home of the NBA Champion Toronto Raptors.
