EVENT NOTES

Grave Digger’s Brandon Vinson made it back-to-back Overall Event Championships on Saturday. It was also the second event in a row where Brandon was able to sweep all four Monster Jam Truck competitions. His overall victory was not as dominating however, thanks to Nitro Menace. Darren Migues and his ATV teammate, Jordan Clemons, put up a tough fight, and actually entered the Freestyle competition in first place. In the end, it was Grave Digger’s impressive Freestyle win that broke the virtual tie and solidified the Overall Event Championship.

Saturday afternoon was all about Grave Digger as Brandon Vinson swept all Monster Jam Truck competitions in dominating fashion. He even capped the event with an amazing save in Freestyle. Brandon also received some help from his ATV teammate, who, although he finished last in ATV Racing, made it to the Finals in the ATV Obstacle Course. After finishing in second place for the Overall Event Championship last night, you could see how determined Brandon was to raise the trophy for team Grave Digger. It’s also worth nothing that Iron Warrior’s Matt Cody was forced out of the competition when he blew his engine in round one of Monster Jam Racing and he was unable to make it back. We’ll see if Iron Warrior is up and running for tonight’s event. Stay tuned!

EVENT NOTES

Friday night in Sioux Falls belonged to team Zombie and Ami Houde. From her pre-show interview you could tell that she was fired up to be performing in front of her parents for the first time. She came right out of the gate with a huge Monster Jam Racing win. Her ATV teammate Samantha Larae was able to keep the momentum going with her own racing win. Team Zombie then finished in a close second to Grave Digger’s Brandon Vinson in the Two-Wheel Skills Challenge to close the first half of the show. After intermission, Grave Digger took the Donut competition, but Zombie did enough to earn the third place finish. And even though Brandon was able to cap the night with a Freestyle win — his third of the night in Grave Digger — it was too little, too late as Zombie finished with a decisive 40 points for Ami Houde’s second career Overall Event Championship.
