EVENT NOTES

Early on, Sunday afternoon looked like it was going to be all Grave Digger as Tyler Menninga and his ATV teammate Karston Butler won the first three competitions of the day. However the second half was another story. First, Myranda Cozad lead Scooby-Doo to her second consecutive Donut competition win. Up next, her teammate Jen Oliva won ATV Racing for the third time, sweeping the weekend. That put the Scooby-Doo team back into contention heading into Freestyle. But even though Grave Digger only finished in third place after an abbreviated run, Tyler still managed to earn enough points to capture his third Overall Event Championship in Omaha — making him three-for-three. Also of note, Steven Thompson of Hurricane Force earned his first competition win, a Freestyle win, in the last event on Sunday.

EVENT NOTES

After finishing in second place in the afternoon, Scooby-Doo!’s Myrada Cozad was able to make it even closer during tonight’s event. She was able to win the Donut competition and got help from her ATV teammate, who won the ATV Obstacle Course for the second time today. But it still wasn’t enough. She finished in a virtual tie with Grave Digger’s Tyler Menninga, however his Freestyle win was enough to break the tie and give Grave Digger his second Overall Event Championship of the weekend. He’ll try to make it three-for-three tomorrow afternoon.

EVENT NOTES

Although the final scores were close, Tyler Menninga of Grave Digger put on an absolute clinic in Omaha on Saturday afternoon. Tyler won all four Monster Jam truck events; Racing, 2 Wheel Skills, Donuts and Freestyle. As he’s done so many times in his young career so far, the highlight of the event was his 2 Wheel Skills run. On his three attempts, Tyler executed three flawless combination moves: a bicycle into a stoppie, a bicycle into a sidewall donut and a stoppie — moonwalk — reverse wheelie. On the strength of the four competition wins, Grave Digger earned the first Overall Event Championship at the CHI Health Center.
