Recap: The season-long back and forth battle between EarthShaker and Grave Digger continued on Sunday afternoon in OKC. After lackluster starts (by his standards) on Saturday, Tristan England came out of the gates strong on Sunday, earning the Racing win and finishing in second place in ATV Racing. But then, just as he’s done all season, Brandon Vinson plated the role of “comeback kid” — winning the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge, Donuts and Speedster Obstacle Course. Although Grave Digger got off to a slow start (first round exit in Racing), the strength of those three straight competition wins, put Brandon in a tie for the Overall Event Championship lead heading into Freestyle. Ultimately, Tony Ochs of Soldier Fortune Black Ops landed a textbook backflip to earn the Freestyle win, but Grave Digger finished in seconds place, one place ahead of EarthShaker — giving Brandon Vinson a one point win, a sweep of the weekend and his fourth consecutive Overall Event Victory dating back to last weekend. He now leads EarthShaker by 53 in the season point standings.

Recap: Saturday night was filled with action throughout the entire event as almost every athlete was able to win an individual competition. First, Soldier Fortune Black Ops grabbed the Racing the win — something that has eluded Tony Ochs for much of the season. After that we saw another rare sight with El Toro Loco taking only his second ATV Racing win of the year. Grave Digger sent us into intermission with the 2 Wheel Skills Challenge victory. In the second half, Zombie won Donuts, putting Bari Musawwir only three points off the lead for the Overall Event Championship. However, Grave Digger was able to win another event — the Speedster Obstacle Course — giving Brandon Vinson a slim two point lead heading into Freestyle. Megalodon’s Austin Minton won his first Freestyle completion of 2020 by nailing a picture perfect backflip. Fans were treated to a second backflip later in the completion, as Tristan England of EarthShaker was able to land one as well. However, it was not enough to catch Grave Digger, whose second place Freestyle finish gave Brandon Vinson his second Overall Event Championship of the day. He’ll look to sweep the weekend on Sunday afternoon.

Recap: Although the day started off with some bad luck for Grave Digger, as Brandon Vinson was DQ’ed in the semi-finals of Racing for running over a turn pole, he was able to rebound later in the event. He ended up running neck-and-neck all afternoon with EarthShaker’s Tristan England. Entering Freestyle, Brandon was only one point behind Tristan for the Overall Event Championship, and while both athletes ultimately would finish behind Zombie’s Bari Musawwir, Grave Digger’s higher Freestyle finish was enough to give him the edge and the trophy.
