Recap

Despite a rainy day, it was a great turn out at Angel Stadium in Anaheim this weekend for a fantastic Monster Jam event! With only two competitions due to the weather, the driver athletes battled it out in both Monster Jam Racing and Freestyle.  Overkill Evolution’s Mike Vaters II took his first ever Stadium Racing win by beating out Todd LeDuc and Monster Energy who came in second for the 3rd week in a row in Racing.  There was a lot of big air in Freestyle, but it was Cory Rummell in Megaladon that started up the competition with an amazing run and hit the first backflip of the night.  The last competitor, Cole Venard and Black Pearl, laid down a huge run with a spectacular backflip wheelie combo that brought the crowd to its feet and gave him his second consecutive Freestyle win. While Black Pearl finished third in the Overall Event, Cory Rummell and Megalodon Fire and Monster Energy and Todd LeDuc tied for Overall Points with 24 each. Due to a higher Freestyle score, Megalodon Fire and Cory Rummell walked away with his first Overall Event trophy of his career.
