Friday 8:00 P.M.

The weather couldn't have been better for a Friday night Monster Jam that included 2-time World Finals Champion MADUSA along with the reigning champion of freestyle, Overkill Evolution and Grave Digger. Tonight started off with the Monster Jam Street Warrior Competition that has been a fan favorite for years at this historic Speedway. From there Monster Jam trucks went into action in the wheelie contest to racing and freestyle. The one who wanted it all was Grave Digger who won all 3 events and extended the Black and Green Wrecking Machines reign of terror.

Grave Diggers first victory came in wheelies with a high score of 35 which was 6 higher than fan favorite, Backwards Bob. Grave Digger defeated Backwards Bob in the racing finals to take the second trophy of the night. The third one came in freestyle as when The Black and Green Wrecking Machine out scored Backwards Bob again but this time by seven points for the three peat.

All Monster Jam trucks were strong tonight but issues plague some them. Black Stallion blew a hole in the oil pan in freestyle. Overkill Evolution had problems with a third member. MADUSA, who had a brand new truck for the night, along with Zombie were solid but working out the kinks. In all, tonight saw some great action from the super stars of Monster Jam.

Saturday 8:00 P.M.

Before we let you know the results of tonight's show there was a line up switch that needs to be mentioned. Black Stallion last night blew the engine so was out for the rest of the weekend. Higher Education with Jim Burns was called in to replace Black Stallion with the help of Team Vatters and Feld Motor Sports. This was for the greater good of the fans of Hagerstown to give them all of what Monster Jam is about-- ENTERTAINMENT!

Monster Jam and Saturday night at Hagerstown Speedway means one thing! Sold-out, crazy fans! The hometown team of Maryland and the reigning World Champion, Overkill Evolution, wowed the crowd as he did in Vegas with an award-winning freestyle and his first victory at his fathers favorite track. Mike Vatters II won freestyle by two points over Grave Digger with some of the biggest air and wildest rides that Hagerstown has seen in a long time. Zombie also was a huge winner of racing as he defeated Backwards Bob in the championship round race with his brand new truck. The other victor of the night was Grave Digger who took the wheelie contest with a high score of 37.

Wheelie Scores:
Grave Digger 37
Backwards Bob 35
Overkill Evolution 28
Monster Mutt Rottweiler 24
Higher Education 23
MADUSA 22
Zombie 19

After the awesome wheelie competition, Qualifying was next and Grave Digger was on a roll as he had the fastest time with a 5.28 second pass. Overkill Evolution was next with a 5.85 second run. From there things started to go wrong as Grave Digger almost blew an engine and was out along with MADUSA who broke a rear axle and that changed the racing bracket completely. Here are the results:

Racing round one: Grave Digger def. Zombie, Backwards Bob def. Higher Education, Overkill Evolution defeated Monster Mutt Rottweiler.

Semi-Finals: Backwards Bob defeated Higher Education (Grave Digger broke)and Zombie (fast looser) defeats Overkill Evolution.

Finals: Zombie defeats Backwards Bob.

Freestyle

Freestyle is what Hagerstown is all about and the world champion would defeat Grave Digger by two points for the last trophy of the night. Backwards Bob took the early lead with a high score of 35 but Overkill took the win with a 38. Grave Digger fixed and ready to go fell short by two with a 36 giving the home town Champion another victory in his career.

A huge shout out to the crews that worked so hard to get MADUSA back into action with the broken rear axle! They were unable to beat the clock to get her into freestyle competition as the heat was so bad but the effort showed what determination to win is all about. The fans showed their appreciation with huge screams and yells for the mechanics and MADUSA.

Freestyle scores:
Overkill Evolution 38
Grave Digger 36
Backwards Bob 35
Zombie 24
Monster Mutt Rottweiler 19
Higher Education 14
MADUSA (broke).

Sunday 2:00 P.M.

No rain for the first time in the last five years here at Hagerstown Speedway for the weekend! Why is that exciting? Because in the last five years rain has disappointed many of Monster Jam fans that so many have missed these shows due to bad weather. Now, on the other hand, it was sunny but 96 degrees!

Before I go into today's details I have to mention that it was Jim Tracy driving higher Education not Jim Burns. Who Jim Burns is, I have no clue just bad memory. (You're supposed to laugh here Larry) Inside Joke.

Anyway, today was a great day for Grave Digger who, like on Friday, did the same great thing. WIN IT ALL! Pablo Huffaker took the Black and Green Wrecking into the winners circle for all three competitions sweeping today's event. The first was the wheelies by 11 points over second place finisher Backwards Bob. From there he went on to defeat Zombie (last nights race champion) in the championship race by two truck lengths. If that wasn't impressive he won Freestyle with a high score of 34 which was 3 points better than the current World Finals Freestyle Champion Overkill Evolution. Pablo was so excited he thanked the fans by calling them his Team Grave Digger!
