It will be a change of scenery for the next three Monster Jam athletes who have been invited to participate in Monster Jam World Finals® XIX at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on March 23-24. This group has spent the majority of their 2018 season competing on Monster Jam Triple Threat Series.
Cynthia Gauthier (Monster Mutt®) has been offered a spot in her first Monster Jam World Finals after competing in the Double Down Showdown. Gauthier was a part of the Triple Threat Series West, but she also stepped out of Monster Mutt® Dalmatian to serve as a fill-in driver for Whiplash™ on Stadium Championship Series 1. In her two Stadium appearances, Gauthier finished second in Freestyle twice and had a 3-3 Racing record. In arena competition, Gauthier won two Event Championships and two Freestyles.
Bari Musawwir (Zombie™) competed on the Triple Threat Series Central in 2018 and has earned a bid to be a part of his sixth Monster Jam World Finals. With a racing record of 35-30 this season, Musawwir has claimed three Racing titles and a pair of Freestyle wins, finishing third is the series point standings. The popular Zombie driver is seeking to end a streak that has seen him bow out of Racing in the second round in each of his appearances.
Colton Eichelberger (Max-D™) returns for his fourth Monster Jam World Finals appearance. Like Musawwir and series champion Tyler Menninga, Eichelberger competed on the Triple Threat Series Central. His record includes six Event Championships with eight Freestyle wins. He becomes the third member of Team Max-D to capture a berth in the field, joining Stadium Championship Series 1 champion Neil Elliott and 11-time World Champion Tom Meents.
Two spots remain for the Monster Jam World Finals XIX Field. One position will be filled by the Arena Championship Series winner (to be announced in Toledo, Ohio, March 18). The final spot is reserved for the champion of the 2018 Double Down Showdown. The field for the Friday (March 23) Double Down Showdown will be announced through the day tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern time.
