Weekend Recap: New Points Leader in Stadium Red in Week 7

All five Monster Jam tours were in action this weekend, with multiple drivers claiming their first wins and the points lead changing hands in Stadium Championship Series Red.
Stadium Championship Series Blue – Angel Stadium of Anaheim played host to the series for the second consecutive weekend. Bari Musawwir (Zombie) took his first Overall Event Championship win of the year and a Racing win on Saturday, while John Gordon (Bad Company) won Skills and Cynthia Gauthier (Lucas Stabilizer) won Freestyle. On Sunday, Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger) scored the Racing win, while Chris Koehler (Monster Mutt) won Skills and Freestyle. Ryan Anderson took the Overall Event Championship, reducing his deficit to Tyler Menninga to 21 points as the series heads to the UTEP Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX.

Stadium Championship Series Red – The series rolled into Minneapolis for two events over the weekend. On Saturday, Mike Christensen (Vendetta) scored his first Skills Challenge win and his first Overall Event Championship. Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) entered Sunday just four points back of series points leader Camden Murphy (Bakugan Dragonoid). Anderson claimed 35 of 36 total possible points to secure Sunday’s Overall Event Championship and take over the points lead heading into next weekend’s stop at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, FL.

Arena Championship Series East – Hunter Souza (Earth Shaker) hit the ground running in Worcester, MA, claiming his first Overall Event Championship on Friday with wins in Racing and Donuts. Weston Anderson (Grave Digger) claimed both Overall Event Championships on Saturday to further extend his points lead. He took the Overall again Sunday, despite not winning any of the competitions, as Dalton Widner (Jurassic Attack) scored the Racing win, Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) took Skills and Linsey Read (Scooby-Doo!) won Donuts and Freestyle. The series heads now to the XL Center in Hartford, CT.

Arena Championship Series Central – Six of the eight tour drivers claimed competition wins this weekend in Cleveland, OH: Coty Saucier (Dragon), Tony Ochs (ThunderROARus), Jon Zimmer Jr. (Terminal Velocity), Jamie Sullivan (Monster Mutt Dalmatian), Mikayla Tulachka (Megalodon) and Matt Cody (Grave Digger), who was filling in for Brandon Vinson. Jon Zimmer Jr. took the first three Overall Event Championships of the weekend, cutting into Team Grave Digger’s points lead. But Matt Cody put the black-and-green wrecking machine back on top Sunday evening, taking the final Overall Event Championship of the weekend. The series moves to the PPL Center in Allentown, PA next weekend.

Arena Championship Series West – All of the competitions in Oklahoma City were won by Tristan England (Earth Shaker), Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger) or Brandon Arthur (El Toro Loco), who was filling in for Elvis Lainez. Tristan England took both Overall Event Championships on Saturday, while Krysten Anderson took the Overall Event Championship on Sunday thanks to wins in Donuts and Freestyle. Brandon Arthur scored racing wins on Saturday and Sunday. The series heads to INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS next weekend.
