Authored by Samuel Reiman on October 23, 2023
It was quality over quantity last weekend as Monster Jam put on one event in Houston, TX, and two events in Gold Coast, Australia, and the drivers delivered.
Gold Coast: Brandon Arthur (Iron Man) swept the two racing events in Monster Jam’s first visit to the Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia, defeating Blake Granger (Max-D) in the final in the afternoon and Bari Musawwir (Black Panther) in the evening. Granger, meanwhile, was able to pull off the sweep in the Kmart Skills Challenge with scores of 9.69 and 9.70 during the two events. Both Freestyle events were won with scores in the 9.5’s, with Myranda Cozad (Thor) taking the win in the afternoon, and Matt Cody (Grave Digger) in the evening. Granger took home the overall in Max-D in the afternoon, with Cody and Team Grave Digger taking the overall in the evening.

Houston: Consistency got Adam Anderson (Grave Digger) the overall event championship during Monster Jam’s only event at the NRG Stadium on Saturday. He made it all the way to the semi-finals in racing, where he was eliminated by his brother and eventual racing winner Ryan Anderson (Son-uva Digger). In the Great Clips Skills Challenge, Adam Anderson placed second behind Armando Castro (El Toro Loco). Then, in Freestyle, he finished just 0.043 points back of Ryan Disharoon (Shaker) in the fan vote for the Freestyle win.
