For the first time in the 2017 season, all 10 Monster Jam® tours were in action on the road to Monster Jam World Finals® XVIII.
The FS1 West Series returned to Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Eric Swanson (Obsessed) performed his first backflip, which allowed him to narrowly defeat Scott Buetow in Team Hot WheelsTM Firestorm for the Freestyle championship. The victory was California native Swanson’s second career stadium freestyle win after winning last year in San Diego. Point leader Neil Elliott in Max-DTM avenged a racing loss from two weeks earlier by defeating El Toro Loco®. Next Stop: Glendale, AZ
The FS1 East Series headed south to New Orleans. Linsey Weenk racked up his second Racing win of 2017 in Lucas Oil CrusaderTM, but Morgan Kane in Grave Digger® would parlay a strong freestyle into an event championship and narrow the gap at the top of the point standings. Next Stop: Arlington, TX
After a pair of Florida stops, Stadium Tour 3 headed north to Toronto. Son-uva Digger® (Ryan Anderson) and Monster Energy® (Coty Saucier) exchanged Racing wins in the doubleheader. Grave Digger (Carl Van Horn) and El Toro Loco (Becky McDonough) scored perfect 40s to record Freestyle wins. Next Stop: St. Louis, MO
The kickoff to Stadium Tour 4 happened before an appreciative crowd in Detroit. VP Racing Fuels Mad ScientistTM made new fans with a solid Racing win. Grave Digger (Charlie Pauken) won the Freestyle competition. There is a tie at the top in the series point standings. Next Stop: Tampa, FL
Triple Threat Series Central presented by AMSOIL roared into Washington, D.C. with point leader MegalodonTM (Justin Sipes) and Pirate’s CurseTM (Camden Murphy) claiming event championships. ZombieTM (Ami Houde) slipped into second place in the point standings. Next Stop: Kansas City, MO
Triple Threat Series West presented by AMSOIL made a visit to Spokane. Cole Venard (Grave Digger) took a few event championships to pad the point leader, but the weekend closed with a dominant performance by Monster Mutt® Dalmatian (Cynthia Gauthier). Next Stop: Nampa, ID
Triple Threat Series East provided three exciting shows for the fans in Newark, NJ. Colton Eichelberger (Max-D) used consistency to claim his seventh and eighth event championships of the year. Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) kept it close by picking up a show title as well. Next Stop: Charleston, WV
It was the first of three Canada stops for Arena Tour 4 as the MTS Centre in Winnipeg provided the backdrop. The Pride of Canada, Northern Nightmare® (Cam McQueen), brought home two event championships with Grave Digger (Randy Brown) claiming one. This point race has the two separated by 15 points. Next Stop: Edmonton, AB
Arena Tour 5 made its first stop in South Carolina at Greenville. Three shows meant three different event winners with Grave Digger (Pablo Huffaker), Monster Mutt® (Kevin Crocker) and Rammunition (Mat Dishman) sharing the wealth. Next Stop: Florence, SC
A trio of shows in Raleigh, NC, left Arena Tour 6 with some interesting developments. The neck-and-neck battle between Carolina Crusher® (Gary Porter) and Megalodon (Alex Blackwell) saw North Carolina’s Porter out front for now. Next Stop: Rochester, NY
