Triple Threat Series East Still Undecided

Authored by Monster Jam on November 14, 2022

After 29 shows and 174 competitions in nine different cities, a championship has yet to be decided in the Monster Jam Triple Threat Series East. There is a tie atop the point standings and the current third-place athlete is only eight points back. One show remains in Providence, Rhode Island, to settle the score.

The series championship offers an automatic bid to Monster Jam World Finals XIX, to be contested March 23-24 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The spotlight shines brightly on Justin Sipes (Megalodon®), Jared Eichelberger (Max-DTM ) and Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger®). Coming into the final show, Sipes and Eichelberger are tied with 998 points. Vinson stands at 990.

Points are awarded in six competitions in each Monster Jam Triple Threat Series show – Racing, Two-Wheel Skills, ATV Racing, Donuts, Speedster Obstacle Course and Freestyle. The winner of any element gets eight points with point declining by one (7 for second, 6 for third, etc.). There is a possible high score of 48 points. Simply put, due to the close nature of the point tally, this battle will go down to the last performance on Sunday afternoon, which promises to be a sold-out crowd at Dunkin Donuts Center.

Update: Grave Digger wins Racing over Megalodon – Points: Megalodon 1004, Max-D 1002, Grave Digger 998

Update: Megalodon wins 2 Wheel Skills – Points – Megalodon 1012, Max-D 1008, Grave Digger 1002

Update: ATV Racing – Grave Digger second, Megalodon third, Max-D fourth – Points: Megalodon 1018, Max-D 1013, Grave Digger 1009

Update: Donuts – Megalodon Wins! – Points: Megalodon 1026, Max-D 1017, Grave Digger 1016. Still too close to call with two elements left.

Update: Justin Sipes and Megalodon clinched the championship in Speedster Obstacle course by defeating Jared Eichelberger in the first round and Brandon Vinson in the semi-finals.
