Charlie Pauken (Grave Digger®) has earned the distinction of becoming the first driver to qualify for the Monster Jam World Finals® XIX, which will be held in Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on March 23-24.

Pauken punched his ticket by capturing the top spot in Stadium Championship Series 2, clinching the title during a Sunday afternoon show at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California. The California stop was the fifth of the season for the series, which started in Florida before heading west.

Pauken moved into a tie for the point lead after the series’ second stop (Orlando) and broke ahead of the pack with an Event Championship in San Diego.  He compiled a racing record of 13-5, capturing one Racing championship (San Diego) while also winning Freestyle in Oakland and Anaheim.

The 2010 World Freestyle Champion will be making his 14th appearance in Monster Jam World Finals, competing for the second time in Grave Digger. Pauken’s first appearance came in 2000, behind the wheel of Nitro Machine. He returned to competition in 2006 as driver of Monster Mutt, which he used for his World Championship. Pauken has driven Monster Mutt in 11 World Finals, stepping out of the truck to drive Grave Digger in 2015.

Pauken has an 8-13 record in Monster Jam World Finals competition.

Additional qualifiers are expected to be announced in the next few days.
