Monster Jam Opens 2020 Season

The 2020 Monster Jam season kicked off the new decade with a trio of cities hosting the Triple Threat Series with non-stop action.

Triple Threat Series West
Triple Threat Series West made a traditional season-opening stop at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City. Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger®) captured the first two event championships, but Tristan England (EarthShaker®) prevented the sweep by winning the final event. On Saturday afternoon, Vinson completed the first-ever backflip in Salt Lake City to the delight of the crowd. Bari Musawwir (Zombie™) adding a Racing win and Freestyle victory for a solid weekend.
Next Stop: Tacoma, WA, Jan. 10-12

Triple Threat Series East
The action opened for this series at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.  Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) would claim the first event championship, but Kayla Blood (Soldier Fortune™) and Blake Granger (Max-D™) would take a pair of wins to keep the competition close. Blood rebounded in the evening show to score the event championship through a consistent performance. The Sunday finale brought the third event champion in as many shows with Granger taking the honors.

Triple Threat Series Central
Matt Cody (Blue Thunder®) opened the competition at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville by claiming the Racing competition, but parity would be the rule for the weekend. By the end of the Sunday finale, seven different athletes had scored competition wins, led by current point leader Justin Sipes (Megalodon®), who swept the event championships. Sipes also landed a backflip on Saturday night during his Freestyle run.
