Monster Jam International Goes on Safari
Authored by Monster Jam on May 9, 2023
For the past three weeks, Monster Jam has been touring South Africa with stops in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban.
The action started on April 22 with Tony Ochs (Earth Shaker) taking the Overall Event Championship at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, while Myranda Cozad took home the Freestyle win in Monster Mutt Dalmatian.
One week later it was Camden Murphy (Blue Thunder) taking home the Overall at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, with a win in Racing, second place in Skills and third place in Freestyle. Charlie Pauken (Megalodon) won Skills and Freestyle but finished 1 point back of Murphy in the Overall standings.
Last weekend, Blake Granger (Max-D) made it three-for-three in different Overall Event Champions in Durban, despite not winning any of the individual competitions. Tristan England (Blue Thunder) won Racing, Cozad won Skills and Pauken won Freestyle, but it was Granger who put in three solid, consistent performances to take the Overall.
During the tour, the Monster Jam International athletes also had a chance to get up close to some of the African wildlife during a safari at Pilanesberg National Park:
