Justin Hicks (Pirate’s Curse™) wasted no time making his mark in Monster Jam. The new driver of Pirate’s Curse recorded his first win in his first ATV competition in the Triple Threat Series™ Central season opener in Nashville, Tennessee. In Birmingham, Alabama, Kristen Hope (Monster Mutt® Dalmatian won the Saturday afternoon Donut contest, marking her first Monster Jam victory in her first full year of competition.
Monster Jam features men and women competing head-to-head regularly. For the first time since 2015, when points were kept in series competition, a female athlete leads a Triple Threat Series. Kayla Blood (Soldier Fortune™) captured an Event Championship on Saturday night in Nashville, Tennessee, to take the series lead. She held the series lead on Sunday, even though Ami Houde (Zombie™) scored another Event Championship for the female athletes. Meanwhile, in Birmingham, Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger®) started the ladies on the right path by winning the Triple Threat Series East Event Championship on Saturday afternoon.
It’s a Boy
Fans at Legacy Arena at BJCC in Birmingham witnessed a special announcement during the event pre-show. Tristan England (EarthShaker®) drove from the tunnel and used his Monster Jam truck to break open a box, which would reveal the gender of the child he and Kierra are expecting. The puff of blue indicated a son in the future of the second-generation Monster Jam racer.
The Week Ahead
The Triple Threat Series moves to the second week of competition in Tacoma (West), Kansas City (Central) and Charlotte (East). The four remaining series will get underway with Stadium Championship Series events in Anaheim, Tampa and San Antonio. The Arena Championship Series will open in Albany, New York.
