If you happen to hear Damon Bradshaw whistling the Bee Gees tune “Stayin’ Alive,” he’s not stuck in some ‘70s disco craze. The driver of Monster Energy® did exactly what he needed to do to keep his hopes going in the Monster Jam® FS1 Championship Series after the tour stop in St. Louis. Bradshaw took Fast Qualifier honors and backed it up with a Racing win to get half of the available points.

Adam Anderson and Grave Digger® retained the series lead, but the margin isn’t as daunting. Anderson was unable to score a single point in the competition, thwarted by the Freestyle win of Tom Meents and Max-D^TM. Meents had been eliminated from the championship when Bradshaw got the single point for Qualifying honors.

Dustin Brown and Monster Mutt® Junkyard Dog collected a point for a win in an abbreviated Donut competition at the Edward Jones Dome.

While Bradshaw’s effort has allowed him to fight another day, the task is no easier this week as the FS1 Championship Series turns north to Ford Field in Detroit. The eight-point margin gives Anderson the upper hand. If Grave Digger® is the fast qualifier, Bradshaw can only tie for the championship if he wins every competition in Detroit and the series finale in Syracuse. If Anderson wins either Racing or Freestyle, he wins the championship.

The stars seem to be aligning for Anderson and Grave Digger® with the scheduled Detroit appearance. In each of his last three appearances at Ford Field, Anderson has won Racing and has also won Freestyle in his last two appearances. His career record in Detroit is 13-1 while Bradshaw has put together a 3-3 mark in his time at the stadium.

Championships aren’t won by past performances and this one will be settled in the Motor City.
