Friday Flashback – Monster Jam World Finals IX

The 2008 World Finals will long be remembered for a great freestyle competition where the bar was set high from the first run.. Monster Mutt Dalmatian, with 2007 driver Chad Tingler back behind the wheel, was selected to be the first truck on the floor. Tingler left nothing to the imagination, putting up a solid run that earned him a 32 from the judges; the highest opening score of any  Monster Jam World Finals competition. There was little room left above the mark and no one was able to push past until Dawn Creten in Scarlet Bandit brought forth an inspiring run that had the fans on their feet. She was rewarded with a 36 and was poised to join Jim Creten as a world champion, setting up the only husband-wife combination. Only the final few trucks would have a chance to take the top spot. It only took one truck and that was Taz, driven by Adam Anderson.  With a score of 37, Adam Anderson was the new leader, giving the World Finals a second generation champion and the youngest winner in the history of the sport.  Only in his third year of competition, Anderson would go on to add a pair of racing championships, joining an elite group that has both racing and freestyle titles.
