Neil Elliott (Max-D) had to overcome mechanical adversity and a hungry group of competitors to win the Stadium Championship Series 1. For Elliott, it’s the second points championship, backing up his FS1 title in 2015. More importantly, it puts the Paxton, Illinois, veteran into the field for Monster Jam World Finals® XIX, to be held March 23-24 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

Elliott came into the weekend in second place, trailing Todd LeDuc (Mutant™) by five points. A stellar Saturday run put Elliott in the driver’s seat as the man to beat on Sunday. Elliott made it to the second round of racing before bowing out with transmission issues. The top-notch Monster Jam crew went to work immediately and were able to make the repairs in time to send Elliott back out for his next competition. Elliott rewarded the crew by winning Two-Wheel Skills to regain the point lead. A third in Freestyle sealed the championship.

The Two-Wheel Skills had been a big part of Elliott’s success, winning six of the 10 competitions held on the season. He collected his only Freestyle victory with the Saturday Atlanta win. A racing win in Houston played a big role in giving Elliott a mid-season lead that disappeared to LeDuc the following weekend.

For Elliott, the 2018 Monster Jam World Finals will mark his seventh appearance. With a career Racing record of 8-7, Elliott’s time to shine has come in Freestyle. Last year, Elliott narrowly lost the title, finishing second. It was his third straight top 5 finish in Monster Jam World Finals Freestyle.

Elliott first appeared at the Las Vegas event in 2004 driving Hot Wheels. He competed in Hot Wheels in 2006, 2007 and 2012. His visits in Max-D have come in 2015 and 2017.

Tickets to Monster Jam World Finals are selling quickly. More competitor announcements will be revealed in the coming days.
