Adam Anderson Joins World Finals Field
Authored by Larry Jewett on April 22, 2019
Adam Anderson (Grave Digger®) will get the chance to add to his World Championship resume as the latest competitor in the upcoming Monster Jam World Finals® XX at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, May 10-11.
The defending World Racing Champion endured a season-long challenge from Neil Elliott (Max-DTM ) to prevail as the champion of the Stadium Championship SeriesTM 2. Anderson took the series lead in late January and held it until Elliott had a strong showing in El Paso in early March. Anderson battled to tie Elliott after Monster Jam’s visit to Seattle, taking the lead by four points after Syracuse and heading into the final event in Philadelphia. Adam was unable to compete in Philadelphia and called upon brother Ryan to finish the job. Ryan Anderson responded with an Event Championship and enough points to seal the series win.
With five World Championships to his credit, Adam Anderson ranks second behind Tom Meents in total titles. Anderson won Freestyle in 2008 and 2016 with Racing wins coming in 2013, 2014 and 2018.
In 2019 competition, Anderson won Racing at Camping World Stadium on January 19. He was also a Racing winner in Orlando in 2016. He has never won a Freestyle event in Camping World Stadium.
Anderson becomes the 12th competitor to join the field. Four more will be named to the field tomorrow with additional selections to be announced later.
Tickets are available for the Monster Jam World Finals XX, which includes new events and the crowning of 7 World Champions.
