Steve Sims Jr: I enjoy kayaking, playing golf and just being active outside.

Steve Sims Jr: My parents and grandparents.
Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?
Steve Sims Jr: I always say a prayer before introductions.
What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?
Steve Sims Jr: I was a black belt at the age of 15.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Steve Sims Jr: A favorite memory of mine is when I qualified for the Young Guns Shootout for my first time.
What is your most prized possession?
Steve Sims Jr: Life.
Life on the Road with Monster Jam
What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Steve Sims Jr: The worst thing about being on the road every weekend is not being able to have a nice home-cooked meal every night. One of the best things about being on the road is being able to travel and see the United States, Canada and Mexico.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Steve Sims Jr: I try to relax as much as I can.
How do you keep fit?
Steve Sims Jr: By walking a lot, drinking a lot of water and I push Monster Jam tires around and flip them side-to-side.
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Steve Sims Jr: My phone so that I can stay in contact with friends and family.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Steve Sims Jr: My favorite city to travel to is Hagerstown because when I’m traveling there, I am heading home.
How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
Steve Sims Jr: I got started by crewing for Vaters Motorsports. After a few years of that, I then got brought onto the Natural Disaster Racing team where Tim Mente then built a second truck and I worked my way to the driver’s seat.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Steve Sims Jr: Just being able to make the fans happy. Whey they are standing on their feet cheering, I know I’ve done my job.
How would you describe your driving style?
Steve Sims Jr: Controlled chaos.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Steve Sims Jr: Follow your dreams, always work as hard as you can and a dream can become reality.
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Steve Sims Jr: When I earned a spot into the Young Guns Shootout at Monster Jam World Finals 16. It was my first time being able to compete at Monster Jam World Finals.

Steve Sims Jr: Jim Koehler.
