Scott Hartsock: Love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, fabrication of trucks

Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?
Scott Hartsock: I say a short prayer to the man upstairs to watch over me and protect me and thank him for my continued health and success.
What's something a lot of people don't know about you?
Scott Hartsock: I was a gunsmith by trade for almost 15 years prior to getting into monster trucks. I had a jacked-up Ford F-150 with 44" tires. I used to mud bog with many of my Florida fans in a place we all knew as Sperry or the Power Lines, located on the border line of Pinellas & Hillsborough Counties in Florida.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Scott Hartsock: Competing in the World Finals in Las Vegas - it was a bitter sweet moment in the finals against Tom Meents. Over anxious, I lost it in the corner and took the 2nd place finish.
What is your most prized possession?
Scott Hartsock: My newest piece that I designed and fabricated for the 2018 season
Life on the Road with Monster Jam
>What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Scott Hartsock: Traveling has its ups and downs. I meet a lot of great people and get to see the world. However, I have had to sacrifice a lot of important dates for family functions that I will not be able to get back. Family needs to be very supportive in this industry. Communication and understanding plays a key role.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Scott Hartsock: Visit all the Bass Pro and outdoor specialty shops in whatever area I am in.
How do you keep fit?
Scott Hartsock: I have a morning workout routine that I stick to religiously. I eat a balanced diet, drink a lot of water and avoid most snacks.
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Scott Hartsock: My phone - it’s my lifeline to what's going on at home, in the news and with my friends.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Scott Hartsock: Indianapolis, Indiana, the race mecca of all motorsports.
How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
Scott Hartsock: I began by building up my street truck which was a Ford F-150 on 44's; kept fabricating bigger and better parts as I continued to develop my own driving skill. I had to prove myself to the USHRA. Once that was accomplished, I continued moving up the ranks and eventually became one of the top names in Monster Jam.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Scott Hartsock: Being a part of something I truly have a passion for; meeting so many people that have the same dream I had, but I actually got the chance to live it.
How would you describe your driving style?
Scott Hartsock: More conservative due to being owner/operator. I value my equipment and take pride in my ride.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Scott Hartsock: Educate yourself to the best of your mechanical ability. Learn from others. Listen carefully to all the drivers and what they bring to the game. Each person has a unique way of making it their own.
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Scott Hartsock: Being recognized as one of the few owner/operators that have survived this industry and the technology that has developed over the years.
Who in Monster Jam do you look up to for inspiration?
Scott Hartsock: Dennis Anderson, the man that never seems to grow old. He has inspired so many people, young and old alike that all it takes is determination and you can do it.
