What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
Matt Pagliarulo: Spending time with family, four-wheeling and being around all types of motorsports in general.
Who are your role models?
Matt Pagliarulo: Anyone that is in the public eye who can balance time with family and friends and can also be a positive role model and mentor to others.
Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?
Matt Pagliarulo: After strapping in the truck and just before the show starts, I take a moment and say a quick prayer and ask that the drivers, fans, officials and anyone in attendance have a safe show.
What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?
Matt Pagliarulo: If I told you, then I wouldn’t have anything that people don’t know about me!
What is your favorite memory on or off the race track?
Matt Pagliarulo: Attending the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas for the first time with our own truck.
What is your most prized possession?
Matt Pagliarulo: My family.
Life on the Road with Monster Jam
What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Matt Pagliarulo: The best thing is getting to spend time with the Monster Jam fans. We try and compete with our truck as a family so the worst thing is that some of the shows are too far away and the family is not with us when we compete.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Matt Pagliarulo: Experience the local sites and attractions.
How do you keep fit?
Matt Pagliarulo: Have you seen me? I’m not that fit!
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Matt Pagliarulo: My crew guys. They are there when times are tough both on and off the track and traveling down the road. No matter what, they are always there and make the time the best it can be.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Matt Pagliarulo: Any of the Florida stadium shows.
How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
Matt Pagliarulo: I started spending more and more time at shows and getting to know some of the drivers, teams and people at Monster Jam. I began to crew for a few times and it was at that point that we decided to build our own truck and start a team of our own!
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Matt Pagliarulo: The fans!
How would you describe your driving style?
Matt Pagliarulo: Constantly evolving.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Matt Pagliarulo: Understand that it’s not as easy as it looks and it’s a lot of hard work to compete competitively in this sport, but if it’s truly something that is in your heart and you want to do it then stick with it and don’t lose sight on your goal because anything is possible.
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Matt Pagliarulo: Driving down Thunder Alley at Monster Jam World Finals for the first time.
Who in Monster Jam do you look up to for inspiration?
Matt Pagliarulo: Every driver in Monster Jam. I have watched these guys and girls compete for many years. Even now, I look at how they drive and at their driving styles. It helps me adapt what I do to be a better driver.
