What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
Kaylyn Migues: I enjoy doing people’s hair and make up.
Who are your role models?
Kaylyn Migues: My parents because they have supported and guided me through everything in my life. I look up to them with every decision I make.
Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?
Kaylyn Migues: I walk the track before every show and I put my seat belt and gloves on the same way every single time.
What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?
Kaylyn Migues: I was a competitive dancer for 15 years.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Kaylyn Migues: My favorite memory would have to be beating my dad in a Chicago style racing event in Rigby, Idaho.
What is your most prized possession?
Kaylyn Migues: All my makeup.
Life on the Road with Monster Jam
What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Kaylyn Migues: The best thing is creating memories with all of the other drivers and track crew members who really becoming your family. The worst thing is being on the road every weekend and not seeing your family at home.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Kaylyn Migues: I enjoy getting to explore the town we are in. Sometimes that consists of going to museums or going to restaurants that we have never ate at before.
How do you keep fit?
Kaylyn Migues: Working on the trucks and running around to make sure they’re ready can really keep you in shape, but I also always hit up the hotel gym when we have free time.
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Kaylyn Migues: My phone, make up and especially my laptop.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Kaylyn Migues: Biloxi, Mississippi because that’s where 95% of my dad’s family lives and where he is from. It is always nice to see where is family comes from and especially seeing all of my family down there.
How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
Kaylyn Migues: I got started competing in Monster Jam through my dad. He decided to buy two of his own trucks in 2014 after working or Jimmy Creten for eight years. Once I turned 17, he started to teach me how to drive which led to me competing during the 2017 Monster Jam season.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Kaylyn Migues: My favorite part is being able to compete against really talented drivers every single weekend. Competing against them really pushes me as a driver to become better and run my truck in to the ground every weekend!
How would you describe your driving style?
Kaylyn Migues: I would describe myself as an aggressive and competitive driver that enjoys racing and freestyle.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Kaylyn Migues: Most importantly, get through school and get your education out of the way and go to college. But also never give up on your dreams. Just because you get declined once or twice doesn’t mean you can give up. If you want it, fight for it.
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Kaylyn Migues: My greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver would be meeting all of the fans every single weekend. It’s amazing when the younger fans come up and ask you questions about the trucks.
Who in Monster Jam do you look up to for inspiration?
Kaylyn Migues: Tom Meents and Becky McDonough. Both of them are amazing drivers and I really enjoy watching them compete.
