About Me

What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?

Justin Hicks: Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge outdoorsman. I’m an avid bow shooting competitor, I love downhill mountain biking, hiking, racing motocross and riding freestyle motocross. Being born and raised in the country shaped me to be who I am today. 

Who are your role models?

Justin Hicks: James “Bubba” Stewart, Ricky Carmichael and my father, Calvin Hicks

Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?

Justin Hicks: I had a bad break on my left ankle riding FMX. I tend to always put my left sock and knee pad on first.

What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?

Justin Hicks: I’m very afraid of large cats! (Mountain lions, tigers, leopards, etc.)

What is your favorite memory on or off the race track?

Justin Hicks: During training, I walked a few wheelies across the pod. I’ve never felt such excitement!

What is your most prized possession?

Justin Hicks: My 2 New York State Championship trophies from my amateur motocross career. So much blood sweat and tears that season and being able to pull off the win in fashion was a moment of a lifetime!

Life on the Road with Monster Jam

While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?

Justin Hicks: I always like to experience the culture of the city by visiting popular attractions and socially engaging with the locals. I also like to go to as many motorcycle shops as possible!

How do you keep fit?

Justin Hicks: I train 3 times a week on the road and at least once a day when I’m at home. 

What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?

Justin Hicks: My laptop! It has everything to keep me going, for both personal or business. 

What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?

Justin Hicks: I love traveling to Tampa Florida. Great weather, great food and great people!

How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?

Justin Hicks: I received an opportunity after traveling and performing for Marvel Universe Live!

What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?

Justin Hicks: The fans!

How would you describe your driving style?

Justin Hicks: Committed

What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?

Justin Hicks: Always reach for the stars. If you train hard and work hard there’s nothing you can’t do!

What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?

Justin Hicks: Becoming one of the top athletes to be able to earn a seat in a Monster Jam Truck
