What are some of your interests/hobbies/favorite pastimes?
Dawn Creten: Being a mom and putting smiles on people’s faces.
Who are your role models?
Dawn Creten: Every brave child I have met throughout the years in children’s hospitals and their care givers.
Do you have any ‘pre-show’ rituals you run through?
Dawn Creten: I double check then recheck my belts! I always make sure my foot reaches the peddles – when other people drive my truck we have to move them and a few times, they didn’t move them back to the short girl spot!
What’s something a lot of people don’t know about you?
Dawn Creten: I was a medic in the army for eight years, I have nine siblings and I do not eat meat.
What is your favorite memory on or off the racetrack?
Dawn Creten: Every weekend I make great memories. I love looking back through the years and then realize how many fans have become great friends.
What’s your most prized possession?
Dawn Creten: My children. I am super proud of the way they have turned out!
Life on the Road with Monster Jam
What is the best and worst thing about being on the road every weekend with Monster Jam?
Dawn Creten: I struggle leaving my kids. It’s 3-4 days away from the house and I worry about everything.
While on the road, what is your favorite thing to do during your free time?
Dawn Creten: I try to stay out of JC’s way so he doesn’t come up with something for me to do.
How do you keep fit?
Dawn Creten: That’s a million dollar question!
What item(s) can you not live without while traveling on the road with Monster Jam?
Dawn Creten: Phone, makeup and Visine.
What is your favorite city to travel to? Why?
Dawn Creten: Phoenix. We have a lot of history there. I love to go by Hughes Performance. They’re great sponsors and great friends of ours.
How did you get started competing in Monster Jam?
Dawn Creten: I met Jimmy in July of 1997 and got the opportunity to drive his second truck that November. January of 1998, I started competing in Monster Jam.
What is your favorite part about competing in Monster Jam?
Dawn Creten: The adrenaline rush I get with I see the fans in the stadiums.
How would you describe your driving style?
Dawn Creten: Very consistent.
What advice would you give to kids who want to become a Monster Jam driver?
Dawn Creten: Same advice I give my kids – if you want something, go for it!
What is your greatest memory as a Monster Jam driver?
Dawn Creten: Taking second place in freestyle at Monster Jam World Finals.
Who in Monster Jam do you look up to for inspiration?
Dawn Creten: All the veteran drivers.
